Wompesket Preserve

Size

39.5 acres

Description

This property is home to a glorious wet-meadow; it is oval in shape, noisy with birds and in a pastoral setting. Of special interest are the wood ducks in the ponds and the autumn cardinal flowers in the meadow. On the south end stonewalls nearly enclose a small square field, connected to the wet-meadow via a plank footbridge. It is — perhaps even more than the average land bank property — a place to go to be reflective, since it is so isolated.

Access

Park in the trailhead of the Blackwater Pond Reservation (property no.37) and follow the signs.
