Bare Hill Preserve

The two properties comprising this preserve are connected by a trail and are part of the Cross-Tisbury Trail. The easterly property was conserved via an agricultural preservation restriction and is a well-known field on the Edgartown Road. The westerly was purchased outright by the land bank in a cooperative acquisition with the town of Tisbury; the original property was split between the land bank and town and was acquired primarily because of its proximity to a town well. “Bare Hill” is thoroughly wooded and sits in shade all summer long; the name is historical and appears in old deeds.
