The land bank announced this week that it had conserved, in two transactions, fifteen acres in West Tisbury. The first was the purchase of 3.3 acres along the scenic State Road corridor abutting the land bank’s John Presbury Norton Farm; the sellers were Christopher Brooks and Mary-Louise Williams and the price was $800,000. The second was the purchase of 11.7 acres of ancient woodland on and near the Christiantown Road, which will effectively unite the land bank’s Christiantown Woods Preserve North and Christiantown Woods Preserve South; the sellers were Rachel Baumrin and her family and the price was $1,900,000. In both transactions the sellers gave the land bank an advantaged price, for which the land bank is most appreciative.
