Public Notice: Trail Conditions Update

Posted Friday, March 6, 2026

As warmer weather arrives and the snow begins to melt, we ask all visitors to use extreme caution on the trails.

Last week’s storm brought down a significant number of branches, limbs and trees across the island. Many trails are currently obstructed by fallen debris, leaning shrubs and hanging limbs that may still fall without warning.

Although trailheads and access roads may be plowed, most trails are currently in very poor condition and, in many cases, impassable.

Trail clean-up will begin next week and is expected to continue for several weeks. Areas requiring specialized equipment may take additional time to clear.

There is no need to report downed trees, as our field crew will be systematically working through all 100 miles of trails we maintain. We will provide updates as properties are cleared and safe for use.

Thank you for your patience!
