With great appreciation, the land bank announced today that it has received its largest-ever gift of acreage. Elizabeth Campbell this week donated 28 acres abutting the Wapatequa Woods Reservation in Oak Bluffs. With the donation the reservation grows to 225 acres.
The property will be named the Ronald and Elizabeth Campbell Preserve of the Wapatequa Woods Reservation.
Seldom has the land bank received gifts, and never on this scale. The land will serve the twin goals of aquifer protection and wildlife habitat protection, but will also be made available for hiking.
The land bank salutes the Campbell family for its generosity.
