   10. RAMBLE TRAIL PRESERVE

Size
7.3 Acres

Description
The land bank purchased this property to keep the blufftop Ramble Trail — one of the island’s first trail networks — from disappearing and to expand the protected lands around the abutting Brightwoods Park (owned by the Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation), a glacial ravine of some considerable depth. Cliff steps guide visitors down to the Lagoon Pond’s stony beach.

Uses
Nature study, hiking, picnicking, mountain-biking, dog-walking (town bylaw requires leashing), scenic vista.

Directions
Follow Winyah Lane 0.6 miles past its intersection with the Vineyard Haven - Edgartown Road and turn right here onto Weaver Lane. Follow Weaver Lane to its end at the shellfish hatchery; trailhead is adjacent.
